Ayers Rock in the afternoon, the largest monolith on the planet - 10kms around the base and 348 metres high

If National Parks are the churches where we witness the Creators beauty, in Australia Ayers Rock would have to be the Vatican

Ayers Rock (Uluru) at dawn

I included this photo of the "human ants" climbing Ayers Rock to show just how big it is.

(it is worth noting that although permitted, the Aboriginals of the area request you to not climb the rock as it is in conflict with their customs.. as well as being dangerous, over 40 people have died from climbing)

at one end of Ayers Rock is this curious rock formation called the "Kangaroo Tail"

view of some of the
specators in the viewing platform car park

I was only one of about 1,000
who travelled to see Ayers Rock that day
