This page is an index of some photographs I have taken in Delhi, India and the Ganges Valley to the north, including the Himalayas.
From Delhi Railway Station I caught the train to Dehra Dun (5 hours north). Then the next day I hired a 4WD and driver to Uttarkashii on the Ganges, a small town of around 17,000 people - another 6 hours up to 3,000 ft.
The following day was one of the most memorable of my life; a 5 hour 4WD trip up the Ganges Valley to Gangotri around 10,000 ft. It was May (spring) and Gangotri was still snowbound. Views of the Himalayas were all around Gangotri, a truly breathtaking experience. Then another 6 hours down the valley in the same day back to Uttarkashii.
